Police anti-gang unit

The anti-gang force, comprising of 300 officers, is part of a new security policy, launched by the government with a goal to fight directly the major street gangs (Mara Salvatrucha and 18th Street Gang) and reduce the high level of violence in the country, caused mainly by the gang criminal activities.
